The central government has taken the allegations of cheating in the NEET-UG examination very seriously, after which the probe into the matter has been handed over to the CBI. The Ministry of Education has given this information by issuing a statement. Earlier, the government also removed the head of the National Testing Agency, while the NET-PG entrance exam was also postponed. After the declaration of NEET-UG exam results, there were widespread protests in many parts of the country.
The Ministry of Education in its statement said that the National Testing Agency had conducted the NEET-UG examination on May 5. Several cases of alleged irregularities have come to light.

Decision taken to maintain transparency: Ministry of Education
Further, in its statement, the Ministry of Education said that in view of the transparency in the conduct of the examination process, the Ministry of Education has decided that the matter should be investigated by the CBI.
The statement also said that the Central Government has notified the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 to prevent unfair means in public examinations.

The government is committed to ensuring the integrity of examinations and protecting the interests of students. Also, the Ministry of Education said that any person/institution involved in this will face strict action.
The head of the National Testing Agency has changed
After the alleged malpractices in NEET and UGC-NET, the government has replaced the head of the National Testing Agency. NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh has been replaced by retired IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola.
The opposition was constantly raising questions about this. At the same time, students were also protesting continuously across the country.
