The No. 8 bowler destroyed Australia’s batting, losing to Afghanistan

New Delhi. The ICC T20 World Cup has seen many upsets so far. The biggest upset of all was achieved by Afghanistan on Sunday June 23 by defeating Australia. However, before this, this team also defeated New Zealand in the group stage. Chasing the target of 149 runs given by Afghanistan, the Australian team was bowled out for just 127 runs. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan called on Gulbadin Naib to bowl at number 8 and the veteran bowled the Kangaroos’ batting order.

Australia entered the Super 8 after winning four matches in a row in the T20 World Cup. After winning the Super 8 match against Bangladesh, the team came against Afghanistan. Everyone was expecting this match to be tough but hardly anyone would have thought that Rashid Khan’s army would defeat the Kangaroo team. Surprisingly, 7 bowlers did their job while batting but the amazing work done by the eighth option changed the map of the match.

The eighth bowler turned the match
Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan tried 8 bowlers in the match against Australia and the one who came last turned the match around. Naveen Ul Haq took two wickets to give Afghanistan a good start. Then Mohammad Nabi took a wicket. Fazal Haque Farooqui, Noor Ahmed, Azmatullah Omarzai, Nangelia Kharot and Rashid Khan bowled. In the 10th over came the 8th bowler Gulbuddin Naib. This experienced bowler changed the match by taking 4 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs.

Top form batsman Marcus Stoinis, who was batting for 11 runs, was caught behind the wicket by Gulbadin. After this, Team David was sent back LBW. Gulbadin also took the wicket of Glenn Maxwell, who scored a half-century to get Australia out of trouble, and was caught by Noor Ahmed for 59. The veteran picked up his fourth wicket by clean bowling Pat Cummins and by this time the match was out of Australia’s hands.
