This achievement showed how much progress Afghanistan have made in the white ball format. In last year’s ODI World Cup, they defeated reigning champions England and former champions Sri Lanka and Pakistan. In the T20 World Cup as well, the team continued its great performance and beat big teams like New Zealand and Australia. However, the Afghanistan team is yet to open a winning account against India and South Africa.
