This is the second T20 World Cup title for the Indian team, who won the first tournament in 2007. With this, the team has equaled two-time winners West Indies and England. In this World Cup jointly organized by West Indies and America, the Indian team performed brilliantly and captured the trophy by remaining unbeaten. Indian players dominated in all three fields namely batting, bowling and fielding.
Captain Rohit Sharma (257 runs), Suryakumar Yadav (199 runs) and Rishabh Pant (171 runs) were the main scorers of the team in batting. While Arshdeep Singh (17 wickets), Jasprit Bumrah (15 wickets) and Kuldeep Yadav (10 wickets) have shone in the bowling, Hardik Pandya (144 runs and 11 wickets) has helped the team at all times with his all-round performance. In the fielding match against Australia, Akshar Patel took a wonderful catch of Mitchell Marsh. Suryakumar Yadav’s catch of David Miller very close to the boundary line in the final is considered to be the turning point of the match.

India has won the most number of matches in the T20 World Cup
T20 World Cup 2024 has brought another good news for the ‘Rohit Sharma Brigade’ with the title being won. The number one Indian team in the T20 rankings is now the team with the most number of matches won in the T20 World Cup. The Indian team has played 52 matches in 9 T20 World Cups. Out of these, the team has won 35 matches while losing 15 matches. One match ended in a tie while one resulted in no result (success percentage 69.60). Let us tell you that in the 2007 World Cup, even in the tied match against Pakistan, Team India won by ‘ball out’.
