How much money will be spent: Anurag Thakur said that 75 lakh LPG connections will be provided in three years, at a total cost of Rs 1,650 crore. Along with this, there will be more than 10 crore beneficiaries under Ujjwala Yojana. Let us tell you that last month the government announced 75 lakh new connections. The fund for this has now been approved by the cabinet. This amount will be given to public sector petroleum marketing companies. Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Modi in May 2016. Under this scheme free gas connection is provided to women from families living below poverty line.
LPG prices also reduced Last month, the government reduced the domestic LPG cylinder price by Rs 200. After this reduction, domestic LPG cylinders of 14.2 kg are now being sold for Rs 903 in the country’s capital, Delhi. Beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana are also getting its benefit.
