According to results released by the Election Commission of India, the BJP-led NDA won 294 seats in the 543-member parliament – 22 more than the majority figure of 272, while the opposition group won 234 seats, 38 seats short of a majority. .
In such a scenario, NDA allies Chandrababu Naidu of TDP and Nitish Kumar of JDU hold the key to the door of power. Although both the parties contested the elections in alliance with the BJP, it is believed that the leaders of the opposition parties are also trying to convince them.
