New Delhi. Afghanistan created a major upset by beating New Zealand by 84 runs in the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan team captained by Rashid Khan did not allow the Kiwis to play the entire 20 overs. Led by skipper Rashid Khan, the Afghan batsmen dominated the match from start to finish. Rashid is very happy after the win. He says his team focuses on its own skills instead of focusing on the opponents’ strengths. He requested to continue this further.
In the match played in Guyana, Afghanistan set a target of 159 runs to New Zealand (AFG vs NZ). The Kiwi team was bundled out for 75 runs against the brilliant bowling of Rashid Khan and Fazlak Farooqui. Left-arm fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqui and Rashid took four wickets each for Afghanistan. Rashid said after the match, ‘Now we have to trust our skills and beat the teams instead of thinking about the opposing team. I am constantly telling my players to focus only on their skills.
