Now, since Aamir Khan thought of shooting this entire sequence in the afternoon, there was a big difficulty in showing the sudden darkness on the actors’ faces. It, too, starts to happen suddenly when the clouds cover up. But in those days, there was neither VFX nor could this work be done with the help of CGI.

So, the makers had to find a way that would make the work work and also make the scenes enjoyable to watch. Anil Mehta said that after much thought someone suggested why not put up a huge curtain that would make the artist suddenly appear to turn from sunlight to darkness if brought up suddenly. The curtain was ordered to be stitched and a curtain several hundred meters long was stitched and brought to the set. But now the problem was that when this curtain was spread so high in the open field, it would be blown away by the wind and take everything with it.

But somehow the sequence was shot to some extent and then the director along with choreographer Ashutosh Gowariker decided to keep the dance sequence so long that the actors are shown dancing and singing for a long time after showing the shot of the clouds. . Apart from this, Aamir Khan suggested showing the entire cast under thick clouds after cloud cover and said that the shots after cloud cover should be shot in the evening after sunset and then combine the two. In the sequence it will look like they are under the clouds.
