Krishnamurthy says his wife suggested the name and it had nothing to do with Rahul-Sachin. “When Rachin was born, my wife suggested the name and we didn’t spend much time discussing it,” Krishnamurthy told The Print.
Rachin’s father further said that the name felt good. It was easy to pronounce and short so we decided to keep this name. A few years later we realized that the name was a combination of Rahul and Sachin’s name. The name Rachin was not given with the intention that we want our child to be a cricketer or anything like that. Let us tell you that Rachin’s parents shifted from India to New Zealand in the 90s. Rachin grew up there. He made his international debut for New Zealand in November 2021.
Rachin’s grandparents live in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. 23-year-old Rachin visited his grandparents in Bengaluru after the World Cup match against Sri Lanka, whose pictures and videos went viral on social media.
