UGC NET 2024 Re-Exam Date: The June edition of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) has been cancelled. This decision has been taken after apprehension of malpractice in the examination. The Ministry of Education, on Wednesday, June 19, announced the cancellation of the UGC NET exam scheduled to be held on June 18, saying that the integrity of the exam could be compromised, hence the cancellation of the exam. The case has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation. Now the candidates appearing for the UGC NET exam are eagerly waiting for the new exam date, though there is no official update.
A total of 9,08,580 candidates appeared for the exam on Tuesday (June 18). This examination is conducted for Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD degree. UGC NET exam is conducted twice in a year.
Where will the new date of UGC NET be announced?
All the candidates appearing in the June examination of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) will have to appear again. The exam date and other information related to the exam will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates are advised to keep visiting the official website for correct and accurate information regarding new exam date and admit card.
Why is UGC NET exam conducted and who can apply?
UGC NET is a national level examination conducted for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) posts in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates who have completed post graduation degree from a recognized college or university can apply for this exam.
