UGC NET Exam 2024 postponed: University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagdish Kumar announced that the date of UGC NET exam scheduled to clash with UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024 has now been postponed. The UGC NET exam will be held on June 18, 2024. Let us tell you that the date of civil service preliminary exam of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and UG NET exam was fixed on the same day i.e. 16th June. Due to the same date of both the exams, the students were confused about which exam to take. However, now students are happy with this decision of UGC.
It has been decided to suspend posting on social media platforms till Tuesday). NTA will conduct UGC-NET in OMR mode across India in a single day. NTA will soon issue a formal notification regarding the exam.
Let us tell you that Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had sent a letter to NTA and UGC requesting to change the date of UGC NET exam to be held on June 16, 2024.
NTA issued the notice on 20 April 2024. It was stated that the application process for UGC-NET June 2024 has been started from 20th April and the examination is scheduled to be held on 16th June 2024. While issuing a notice on March 19 before the UGC NET, the UPSC said that the civil services preliminary exam will be held on June 16. When the UGC announced the NET exam date, candidates were confused when they came to know that the UGC NET and UPSC preliminary exam will be conducted on the same day. However, now UGC has cleared the candidates’ problems and candidates who want to appear for both exams (UGC NET and UPSC Pre) can do so.
