UGC NET: UGC NET Maths and Logic Candidates Confused, Know How Many Candidates Appeared in the Exam.

The UGC NET exam was conducted on Tuesday in OMR-based pen-and-paper test mode. According to the candidates, the level of questions was average with mostly matching questions being asked. Students who returned from Kankarbagh Kendriya Vidyalaya in Patna said that some questions were asked based on logic, which took more time to solve. Meanwhile, students returning from the DAV located at Danapur Cantt Road said they faced difficulty in commuting due to the distance to the exam centre. Apart from this, students had to face long traffic jams due to the examination center being in a rural area.

Paper One consisted of five questions from DI, four from Computer and five from Mathematics. Questions asked including reasoning ability and history from Physics Chemistry also left the students very confused. General awareness questions were also included. If we talk about teaching attitude, UGC should ask new questions to its students. The first shift lasted from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and the second shift from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Some candidates from Prayagraj said that the maths and reasoning questions in the first paper were very tough. Students were stuck solving it. Most of the time was spent in solving these questions. Students claimed that the changed pattern made interpretation of data in Paper-1 challenging. At the same time, this time five questions from each unit were not asked. Candidate Navneet said that reading comprehension level was difficult while interpretation of data in Paper-1 of both shifts was also challenging. Talking about the pattern, Paper-1 has 50 questions related to research and teachability, comprising of 10 units and 5 questions are expected from each unit. However, this time 5 questions from each unit were not asked. There were relatively few questions regarding research and teaching qualifications. The number of questions related to sequence and chronology was also high. On the other hand, some other candidates said that the second paper was very good for subject students. It may be noted that UGC NET was conducted in two shifts at 33 centers in Prayagraj. 20543 candidates were registered for this.

UGC Chairman M Jagdish Kumar said that the UGC NET exam was conducted for 11,21,225 candidates at 1205 exam centers in 317 cities of the country. About 81 percent of the total registered candidates appeared in the examination.
