Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission on Tuesday announced the direct recruitment result for 411 posts of Medical Officer Grade-II General Surgeon under Medical Health and Family Welfare Department. Only 51 posts could be selected. Due to non-availability of qualified candidates, 360 posts remained vacant. Notably, all the 51 posts that have been selected are from the unreserved category, no suitable candidate has been found for a single post from the reserved category. Out of 411 posts, 338 posts are for General Surgeon and Neuro Surgeon and 73 posts are for Plastic Surgeon and Gastro Surgeon. Of these, 62 posts were unreserved, 188 posts were reserved for Other Backward Classes, 130 posts for Scheduled Castes, 11 for Scheduled Tribes and 40 posts were reserved for candidates from economically weaker sections.

Based on the interviews held on 27th and 28th June, only 51 unreserved category candidates have been selected for these posts. According to Vivek Kumar Srivastava, deputy secretary of the commission, the remaining 360 posts have remained vacant due to non-availability of candidates. It is recommended to re-advertise in this regard. In the results declared in order of merit, Devesh Sharma, Azharuddin Akash Gupta and 51 others were selected.

Preparation of taking action against then Controller of Examination in case of change of copy of PCS-J-2022
Now preparations are underway to take action against the then Controller of Examinations in the matter of copy change in Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) PCS-J-2022 main examination. The Commission is of the view that the entire matter was due to human error, there was neither a breach of privacy nor any criminal misconduct. This work was the responsibility of three experienced women who have been doing this work for a long time. Let us tell you that the Commission has initiated disciplinary action against a Deputy Secretary by suspending three responsible people in this matter, while a letter has been written to the government for action against a retired Assistant Review Officer.
