Every year, lakhs of candidates aspire to clear one of the toughest exams, UPSC CSE, but only a few of them are able to crack the Civil Services Exam. The journey of preparing for this exam is a challenge in itself. Sometimes, candidates spend years to crack this exam but fail to achieve their goal. Today we are going to tell you about a 26-year-old young man who took to a website to share his views on how we are not taught to handle failure.

The person said that after quitting his job in the year 2021, he decided to do something for the society by clearing the UPSC CSE exam. However, he could not qualify the exam. Later, he joined an NGO and decided to give the Common Admission Test (CAT), but could not score a good percentile there either.

He said, “I failed, more than failing the exam, I failed in my own eyes. When you fail in UPSC, you don’t just fail on results day, you fail every day.

That person said, After failing at almost every step, I realized one thing that failure is more common than success and it is very unfortunate that till date no one teaches us what to do when you fail to handle it? From pre-school to today, we are only told to do our best. My question is why? If I had been taught that failure was normal, I might not have been so mentally disturbed.

The man continued, “When I have children, I will teach them to be happy.” I will teach them that your career is a small part of your life, not your whole life. I will teach them to be happy and be a good person with or without money, because now I know that in life success and failure will come and go, but happiness should always be there.
