UPSC Mains Essay: UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2023 started from Friday. The exam is being conducted in two shifts. The first shift is being conducted from 9 AM to 12 PM and the second shift from 2 PM to 5 PM. After the conclusion of the UPSC mains exam on Friday, there was a lot of discussion on social media regarding the essays asked in the question paper. Civil service officials and candidates preparing for UPSC civil services exam gave their respective responses. UPSC Men’s Essay Paper has two sections A and B. Four essay choices were given in each section. An essay of 1000 to 1200 words was to be written on each section choosing one option each. That means two essays were to be written in total. Essays are worth 250 marks (125-125 marks each) and play an important role in the candidate’s success. Many IAS officers who cracked the UPSC after seeing the paper took to social media to say what subject they would have written the essay on if they were there.

6. Mathematics is the music of knowledge.
7. In a society where there is more justice, there is less need for charity.
8. What remains after the things learned in school are forgotten is education.

IAS officer Avnish Sharan, who is active on social media, said, ‘I used to write essay papers in 2nd and 8th in civil services main exam. Civil officer Altap Shaikh named the third and fifth toppers as their choice. Written by DSP Anjali Kataria

UPSC conducts civil services examination in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview. According to the schedule, the UPSC Mains Exam will be held on 15, 16, 17, 23 and 24 September 2023.
