Nepal cricket team veteran Sandeep Lamichha will be last seen playing in T20 World Cup 2024. The US rejected Sandeep Lamichhane’s visa after he was found guilty in a rape case. USA does not grant visa to any citizen due to criminal cases. However, Sandeep Lamichhane is still cleared to play in the T20 World Cup as he will be available for the West Indies matches. They have also reached the West Indies.

Sandeep Lamichha will be seen playing for Nepal for the last two group matches of the T20 World Cup 2024. The US rejected his visa. Due to this he could not travel with the team, but now Nepal Cricket Association Secretary Parsh Khadka announced in a press release on Monday morning that Sandeep Lamichhane will be able to play for Nepal in the West Indies. Sandeep Lamichhane has also given this information on his X account. He wrote, “Hello from the West Indies.” He also shared a letter with her, in which he thanked everyone.

Sandeep Lamichhane was in the official squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, but he did not get a visa to the USA. After this, the Nepal Cricket Association i.e. CAN coordinated with the ICC and allowed Sandeep to play in the West Indies. He will play the last two matches of the group stage, as these matches will be played in Kingston, St Vincent. Young bowler Pratish GC was sent to America as a traveling reserve. However, he did not get a chance to play.

As for Nepal, the team is in Group D along with Netherlands, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh. The team lost their first match against Netherlands and the second match is scheduled to be held in Florida which is in USA, so Lamichhane will not be able to play there either. This match will be against Sri Lanka. At the same time, Sandeep Lamichhane will play for the Nepal team in the matches against South Africa and Bangladesh.
