Everyone must have seen Bollywood and Hollywood superheroes talking on air on super bikes like Harley Davidson or BMW. Now Uttarakhand police personnel will also be seen controlling crime and traffic with super bikes like Harley Davidson or BMW. The Traffic Directorate has also prepared a proposal to buy these super bikes, but questions are being asked about such a wasteful expenditure for Uttarakhand, which is saddled with a debt of over Rs 80 thousand crores.
Uttarakhand Traffic Directorate Director Mukhtar Mohsin said that we have 50 four-wheelers and 40 two-wheelers for road safety work. Based on the experiment, we plan to buy 8 Harley Davidson or BMW. The proposal under Road Safety Fund Management has been passed and the bikes will be on the road soon.
8 bikes will be bought for 1 crore 68 lakhs
In the first phase, 8 hi-tech bikes will be purchased for 1 crore 68 lakh rupees. Besides, equipment like shoulder light, body one camera, convex mirror will also be purchased.
At present eight high-tech bikes like Harley Davidson or BMW will be bought. The price of this bike ranges from 3 lakh rupees to 23 lakh rupees.
Harley Davidson showroom sales manager Amit said that Harley Davidson’s fat boy cruiser bike comes with GPS, PA system, communication system. He said that he spoke to the traffic director and we also gave a demonstration. Soon we will see this bike with Uttarakhand Police. Its price starts from around 23 lakh rupees.
This is the rationale behind buying a super bike
These high-tech bikes are being bought citing the changing times and the reason why high-tech bikes are being used in crimes. Uttarakhand Traffic Directorate Director Mukhtar Mohsin said that we also feel that the way the capacity of the traffic police has increased in other countries, we have planned to bring 8 bikes under the pilot project. If this pilot project is successful, we will take it further.
He said that these vehicles are very expensive but also have a lot of comfort. There are other features as well. He said that they have a lot of speed and we also need speed to catch the accused after the crime.
However, the police are claiming that these hi-tech expensive bikes will not only control traffic but also criminals. However, the big question is whether this expenditure is justified in this small state which is saddled with thousands of crores of debt.
