Vasant Vihar accident: 3 bodies of laborers recovered from rubble after 24 hours, wall collapses due to rain

The bodies of three laborers buried under the debris of a wall at a construction site in Vasant Vihar area were found today. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received information about the wall collapse on Friday morning. After 24 hours, three bodies buried under the debris were recovered today. A crane was used to remove the debris and the water was pumped out with the help of a pump. When he went and took out the dead bodies of the workers.

Delhi Fire Department Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg said that on June 28 around 6 am, the fire department received a call about a building collapse in Vasant Vihar area. After which five cars of fire brigade were sent to the spot.

It is to be noted that people are facing a lot of difficulty in movement due to waterlogging in many areas of Delhi due to rain. Delhi received continuous rain for three hours on the first day of monsoon on Friday, the heaviest rainfall this month in the last 88 years. Five people have died in rain-related accidents in the national capital. Many areas of the national capital were submerged in water due to the rains.

The cab driver died

A part of the roof of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport’s Terminal 1 fell on a car parked there, killing a cab driver and injuring six others. After this accident, the operation of the planes had to be suspended. A 39-year-old man was electrocuted in Rohini’s Prem Nagar area, while two children died after drowning in rainwater in New Usmanpur area.
