Bridgetown. The Indian cricket team could not return to India after winning the ICC T20 World Cup. She is stranded in Barbados after a heavy storm battered the Caribbean islands on Monday. All airports have been closed due to which the Indian team’s return home has been delayed. Barbados, which has a population of about three lakh, has been under a lockdown-like situation since Sunday evening. Its main international airport is closed until further notice and water and electricity supplies have also been disrupted.
Fans of the Indian team in India are eagerly waiting. Team India was scheduled to arrive in India on Monday via a charter flight along with top BCCI officials. Barbados has almost reached a state of lockdown due to the stormy winds. Strong winds and storms are likely to affect life in Barbados and surrounding islands.
