Shreyas Iyer IPL 2024 Winner Celebration: Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the final match of IPL 2024 on Sunday night, May 26, to clinch the title. This is KKR’s third IPL title, having previously won the trophy in 2012 and 2014. KKR’s celebrations were different when captain Shreyas Iyer came to collect the trophy after winning the match. In fact, former captain MS Dhoni started a tradition years ago that after winning any series or tournament, he gives the trophy to the young players of the team and then the entire team celebrates together.
Indian captains have been seen doing this in the IPL as well. Apart from Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have done this in the last several years after winning the IPL trophy. But this was not seen in the KKR camp after the IPL 2024 final.
