New Delhi. The South African team was defeated in the ICC T20 World Cup match against the Indian cricket team. For the first time, a team that reached the World Cup final came close to the trophy and missed it. At one point the match was in the grip of South Africa but the Indian bowlers turned the match around. After the final defeat, when the team players were about to board the bus, the Indian supporters clapped and cheered the South African team.
The final of the ICC T20 World Cup between India and South Africa was played on Saturday, June 29. India won the toss and elected to bat first but did not get off to a good start. Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav were out early. Virat Kohli led the team along with Akshar Patel. Shivam Dubey came in at the end and played a quick innings and took the team to 176 runs. South Africa needed 26 runs from 24 balls and had 6 wickets in hand. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh turned the match and led India to victory.
