121 people were killed and dozens injured in a major accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras on Tuesday. From PM Modi to CM Yogi, taking note of this matter, have expressed their condolences to the victim’s families. CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident. On Wednesday, CM Yogi also reached to meet the injured. Let’s know how this accident happened.
The program was held in a 100 bigha vacant ground
The event was organized near Phulrai along the GT road on the Hathras to Eta route. Satsang arrangements were made on 100 bighas of vacant land keeping in mind the thousands of devotees coming to the programme. Food and drink arrangements were also made for thousands of people. The program was attended by a large number of people from Uttar Pradesh as well as Delhi and Haryana. Some locals have claimed that more than one lakh people attended the event.
The accident was caused by wet soil
The soil became moist due to waterlogging due to recent rains. There was a danger of people slipping because of the moist soil. There was a slippery slope between the road and the farm. Because the ground was hurriedly prepared for this event. After the harvest the game was empty. The event venue was not like a flat field. Naturally, the field has many ups and downs. The organizers of the program did not take this into account.
stampede into the field
When Baba’s satsang is over and he is leaving, suddenly people rush to see him and touch his dust. There is an atmosphere of fear among the people. The field became slippery due to water and mud. The unruly crowd of people kept moving forward, crushing each other. The stampede became so severe that more than 100 people died in one go.
Soon there was a big accident
There was such a stampede that before they knew it, people started climbing one after another. 121 people died in no time. Due to the direct sunlight in the fields people were experiencing extreme heat. People were already bothered by the heat, proper arrangements were not made by the organizers to avoid the heat inside the pandal.
Scattered all over the place. Many people were separated from their loved ones. There was an atmosphere of screaming and yelling everywhere. By the time relief and rescue efforts were launched by the district administration, dead bodies were being seen everywhere.
