A total of 6 teams are participating in the Asia Cup, which are divided into two different groups. India, Nepal and Pakistan are in Group-A while Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in Group-B. Each team will play each other in the group stage. After this, the top two teams will advance to the Super-4 round. In the Super-4, each team will play each other once and then the top-2 teams will qualify for the finals. The opening match will be played between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan on August 30 and the final will be played on September 17. 13 matches including the final will be played in the tournament.

The Asia Cup will be hosted by both Pakistan and Sri Lanka
Pakistan was supposed to host the Asia Cup first but India refused to go there and play the match. After this the hybrid model was finalised. Under this, 4 matches of the Asia Cup will be played in Multan and Lahore, while a total of 9 matches including the final will be played in Pallekele and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

Will India play Super-4 match in Pakistan?
No, India will not play any of its matches in Pakistan. Regardless of where India place in the first round, Pakistan will go into the Super-4 round as A1 and India A2, while Sri Lanka B1 and Bangladesh B2 will be in the second group. If the third-placed teams in either group qualify for the Super Four, Nepal or Afghanistan will replace the eliminated teams (Pakistan or India in Group A and Sri Lanka or Bangladesh in Group B). If India qualifies for the Super-4 round, it will play its match in Colombo.
