Australia’s legendary opening batsman David Warner has said goodbye to international cricket. He played his last match against India. Australia’s trip to the T20 World Cup 2024 ended in the Super-8 round and also ended Warner’s career. He was active in international cricket for 15 years. On Warner’s retirement, wife Candice Warner shared a special post, which hastily recounted the record.

Warner is the only Australian and the third cricketer in the world to have played 100 matches in all three formats. 49 international centuries in all three formats (second only to Ricky Ponting), most international centuries by an opening batsman. 18995 combined international runs (second only to Ricky Ponting), 2 times in ODIs World Cup Champion, once T20 World Cup Champion, one-time World Cup Player of the Tournament, one Test Championship trophy, 3-time Allan Border Medalist, highest Test score 335*.”
Let us tell you that Warner is the player who has scored the most international centuries as an opening batsman. He has scored 49 centuries in 374 matches for Australia. Australia’s victorious campaign in the 2021 T20 World Cup saw the left-handed batsman named the player of the tournament. He was the second highest run-scorer of the tournament with 289 runs in seven innings. Warner may have retired from international cricket but will continue to play in T20 leagues around the world.
