BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that Team India will get a new head coach from the series against Sri Lanka later this month. The BCCI chief also confirmed that the Cricket Advisory Committee has conducted interviews and shortlisted two names for the high-profile post. Jay Shah is currently stuck in the West Indies with the Indian team. While talking to select media present there, Shah said that BCCI will also appoint a selector soon.

According to PTI, Shah said, “Both the coach and the selectors will be appointed soon. CAC has conducted interviews and shortlisted two names and whatever decision they take after they reach Mumbai, we will take Laxman to Zimbabwe accordingly.” But the new coach will join the Sri Lanka series.”

According to reports, the CAC has shortlisted KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir and former Indian women’s team coach WV Raman to replace Rahul Dravid. Binny told ANI, “Gautam Gambhir has a lot of experience and it will definitely be a good thing for Indian cricket if he takes over the position. He is experienced and that is what India needs.
