Gaza:
The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas on the Gaza Strip is not ending. At least 40 Palestinians have been killed and 224 others injured in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours. Health officials in Gaza said on Saturday that the total number of Palestinian deaths had now reached 37,834. Since the beginning of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023, 86,858 people have been injured.
Gaza officials said rescue teams faced many obstacles due to clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian armed groups, particularly in the southern Gaza city of Rafah and Shujaiya in eastern Gaza. Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adrai said in a press statement on Saturday that Israeli forces continue to attack “terrorist” targets in the Shujaiya area.
Officials said the army had killed several in clashes over the past few hours and that Israeli troops had found a weapons depot inside a school complex in the area. According to Adre, Israeli forces in Rafah killed several terrorists and destroyed several “terrorist” infrastructures, including tunnels.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees said on social media platform X that thousands of people are facing problems such as shelter, food, medicine and clean water, the situation has worsened. The Pentagon announced on Friday that a US ship anchored off the coast of Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid had been diverted due to bad weather.
