He recently dismissed Tejanareen Chanderpaul, son of former West Indies cricketer Shivnarayan Chanderpaul, in the first Test match against West Indies. Tejnarayan Chanderpaul was dismissed for just 12 runs in that match.

Ravichandran Ashwin made his Test debut in the year 2011. He dismissed Shivnarayan Chanderpaul in his very first Test match. Shivnarine’s wicket was taken by Ishant Sharma in the first innings of the first Test against India. But in the second innings, he fell prey to Ravichandran Ashwin. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Shivnarine LBW when he was playing for 47 runs. Ashwin has taken a total of 489 wickets in Test matches for India so far. He is just 11 wickets away from completing 500 wickets.
