Who will be Rohit Sharma’s deputy in Asia Cup? The star player will compete with Hardik Pandya for the vice-captaincy

Star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is likely to compete with all-rounder Hardik Pandya to become the vice-captain of the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup and ODI World Cup starting October 5. Hardik Pandya is leading Team India in the shortest format of cricket after the T20 World Cup 2022 in the absence of Rohit Sharma. At the same time, he was also made the vice-captain of the ODI team on the recent West Indies tour. But now that Jasprit Bumrah is back in the team, it is being said that Bumrah and Pandya may battle it out for the vice-captaincy in the upcoming mega events. Bumrah has been made the captain of Team India in the comeback series against Ireland.

Sourav Ganguly’s prediction, any of these 5 teams will win the World Cup 2023 title

“If you look at experience in terms of leadership, Jasprit Bumrah is ahead of Hardik Pandya,” a BCCI source aware of the matter told PTI-Bhasha on condition of confidentiality. He took over the captaincy of the Test team in 2022. He was also the vice-captain of the ODI team before Pandya during the ODI tour of South Africa.

He said, ‘It won’t be a surprise if you see Bumrah making ODI vice-captain for both Asia Cup and World Cup. This is the reason why he was given the captaincy in Ireland in place of Rituraj Gaikwad.
