Australian legend Ricky Ponting has said that Jasprit Bumrah will be the highest wicket-taker in the upcoming T20 World Cup. He also announced the name of the batsman who scored the most runs in the tournament. According to Ponting, Australia’s star batsman Travis Head’s bat will speak loudly in the World Cup and he will become the highest run-scorer. This time the ninth edition of T20 World Cup will be played in America and West Indies.
Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has kept Jasprit Bumrah on top of the list of bowlers who have taken the most wickets in the tournament. Ponting believes Bumrah has been in great form since IPL 2024 and his ability to take advantage of the new ball will be key. Former Australian batsman Ricky Ponting said in an ICC review, “I think the highest wicket-taker in this tournament will be Jasprit Bumrah. He continued, “He swings the new ball, finally after the IPL ended his economy rate was less than seven runs per over. He takes the wicket. He also bowls many difficult overs. When you bowl difficult overs in T20 cricket, you get a chance to take a lot of wickets. So, I’m with him.”
Ponting said, “In my estimation, the highest run-scorer would be Travis Head. I think whatever he has done over the last few years, whether it’s the red ball or the white ball, he’s been supreme.
