Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has said why Gautam Gambhir is the top contender to be the head coach of Team India. Navjot Singh Sidhu mentioned about IPL 2024, in which Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders i.e. KKR team and played an important role in helping his team win the title. In the last two seasons he was with Lucknow Super Giants where the team also reached the playoffs, but after the 2023 season he joined KKR and here he led the team with his strategy and led the team to the championship.
After KKR won the IPL 2024 title, many have advocated Gautam Gambhir as the head coach of Team India. Now the name of Navjot Singh Sidhu has also been included in the list, who has clearly named Gambhir as a contender for the head coach. Navjot Singh Sidhu posted that he is the top contender for the head coach.
Gautam Gambhir, who was instrumental in leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup final in 2007 and the ODI World Cup final in 2011 with his batting, also captained the Indian team in a few matches and performed well. However, he retired from international cricket and IPL several years ago and is seen in coaching roles. BCCI’s first choice is also Gautam Gambhir. Soon the board may make a big announcement regarding them. Gautam Gambhir may be made the head coach of the team till 2027 ODI World Cup.
