Will Modi end Russia-Ukraine war? Such a big responsibility on the PM, 90 countries gathered as soon as he took oath

New Delhi: Russia and Ukraine have been at war for almost two and a half years. Thousands of people have died in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Millions of houses have been reduced to rubble. Millions of lives have been destroyed. Still the fire of war is not extinguished. The whole world including India is trying to somehow end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Now Modi government has been formed for the third consecutive time in India. In such a situation, looking at the Russia-Ukraine war, the eyes of the whole world are on India. In a way, now the responsibility of ending the Russia-Ukraine war has fallen on PM Modi. 90 countries of the world have come together to end the Ukraine-Russia war. India is also included in this.

Actually the Ukraine Peace Summit is being organized by Switzerland. About 90 countries have confirmed their participation in it. However, invitations were sent to 160 countries. India will also participate in this Ukraine Peace Summit. Russia has refused to participate in this peace summit. China, like Russia, does not agree. China has also placed a different condition. Swiss President Viola Emhard gave this information. The conference is being held despite Russia’s refusal to participate in the conference. More than half of the participating countries are from Europe.

What is the purpose of the Peace Summit?
According to President Emhardt, the summit, to be held on June 15-16, nearly 28 months after Russia launched its attack on Ukraine, aims to pave the way for a possible peace and agree on an end to the war. He said that this is not propaganda. This is about prioritizing further negotiations on the issue of humanitarian aid provided by Switzerland. According to Swiss officials, Brazil and China have said they will not attend the summit until both sides, including Russia, come to the negotiating table. Ukraine is willing to join, but Russia has refused. However, Switzerland is in constant contact with Russian officials regarding the Ukraine Peace Summit.

Will Modi go to the summit?
Switzerland says that India will also participate in the Ukraine Peace Summit. However, nothing has been officially announced yet whether PM Modi will go from India or whether External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar or any other Indian representative will attend. It is believed that the final list of participants in the Ukraine Peace Summit will be out by Friday. According to Al Jazeera, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are likely to attend. US President Joe Biden will not attend this summit. But he will be replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris and National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan.

Modi has also stopped the war
If PM Modi goes to this summit it will be a big step towards Russia-Ukraine war. India will try its best to find a way to end the war in this summit. Even before this, PM Modi played a big role in the Russia-Ukraine war. When there was a war between the two countries, the challenge was to get the Indian students out safely, it was PM Modi who stopped the war for a while by talking to the two countries. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar himself explained this. Russia once prepared a nuclear attack on Ukraine in March 2022. After that, on the request of the UN Secretary, PM Modi postponed the talks with Russia-Ukraine.

Why is Modi’s role important?
Modi’s role will be important in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Many countries including America believe that only India can stop the war between the two countries. Both Russia and Ukraine have invited PM Modi. Both the countries had invited PM Modi for a visit after the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. PM Modi last went to Russia in 2018. Now that the Lok Sabha elections are over. In such a situation, once again the eyes of the world are fixed on Modi. No plan has been announced yet whether Modi will visit Russia and Ukraine. However, from the beginning, Modi has been advocating a negotiated end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. The good thing is that both Russia and Ukraine consider India as neutral.
