Broke the silence on the clash of ideologies
The filmmaker continued in the post, ‘Bengal is the only state which has been partitioned twice. Bengal is the only state where there have been continuous massacres before and after independence. The conflict in independent India was between two major national ideologies – Hinduism and Islam. There were four main ideologies in Bengal – Hinduism, Islam, Communism and its radical offshoot Naxalism. During this new era, the heritage of nationalism, social reform, philosophy, art, literature and spirituality suffered a lot. Everyone was bumping into each other. As a result, the state decayed in all aspects. What was left? Left.’
