Brendan King had a strain problem during the match against England. Sam Curran was bowling the 5th over of the innings for the opposition team. King tried hard to hit a cover drive by Curran on the third ball of this over, but instead of hitting the shot, he sat down in the middle of the field. His bad condition can be gauged from the fact that the physio had to come to the field immediately and then he went to the dressing room without playing any ball.

King managed to score 23 runs against England

King was instrumental in getting the West Indies team off to a great start against England. He scored 23 runs off just 12 balls, including a 101m long six off Reece Topley. However, his aggressive innings came to an abrupt halt when he was writhing in pain on his 13th ball.

Cricket West Indies confirmed his injury during the match itself and said that he would not be fielding. According to CWI, ‘Brandon King has suffered a side strain.’

Let us tell you that it usually takes several weeks for a player to recover from a side strain problem. In such a situation, King’s participation in the remaining matches of the World Cup now looks very doubtful. Now 9 counts are left in the tournament.
