Will this 69-year-old South hero play the role of Narendra Modi? Now broke the silence, said- ‘This one for me…’

New Delhi: Actor Sathyaraj, who played the role of Kattappa in the ‘Baahubali’ franchise, is a well-known star of South cinema and is in the limelight these days for playing the role of PM Narendra Modi. Recently, the actor has reacted to the news of him playing the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a biopic. In a recent interview to a Tamil website Minambalam, he rubbished the rumors and said that this is news to him too. The news of PM Modi playing the role of Sathyaraj in the biopic went viral on social media a few days ago.

On May 18, publicist Nikhil Murukan shared the news on his X page about Satyaraj being a part of PM Modi’s biopic, on which Kattappa has now given his statement. Talking to Minambalam, Sathyaraj said, ‘The news that I am working in the biopic of Prime Minister Modi is also news for me. But the truth is that till now no one has approached me to play the role of PM Modi in the film. People have spread disturbing news on social media.

He continued, ‘Earlier there were reports in the newspapers that ‘the girl was killed… is it because of an illicit relationship?’ Similarly, social media has also become the center of such rumours. Sathyaraj is a self-proclaimed Periyarist and had once said that he would not be a part of a film promoting anti-Periyarist ideologies. Earlier, Vivek Oberoi played the role of PM Modi in the biopic directed by Omung Kumar and was well liked in the role.

On the work front, Sathyaraj is awaiting the release of his upcoming Tamil film ‘Weapon’. He plays a supernatural figure in the film, which also stars Vasant Ravi and Rajeev Menon in important roles. ‘Weapon’ was supposed to release in cinemas on 23rd May i.e. today but it has not released yet.
