The second team to qualify for the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 has been announced. After South Africa, now Australia has confirmed the seats for the Super 8 match. Another team has also been eliminated from Group B. Namibia’s trip to the tournament has ended after Oman, as the team has lost two out of three matches, with a net run rate of over minus 2. Thus, all avenues for Namibia to reach the Super 8 are closed. Australia narrowly beat Namibia in their third Group B match. Australia won the match in the Powerplay itself.
Talking about Australia vs Namibia match, Australia bowled out Namibia for 72 runs in 17 overs. In this match played in Antigua, Australia achieved the target of 73 runs in the powerplay itself. Australia scored 74 runs in 5.4 overs for the loss of 1 wicket and registered a big win and qualified for the Super 8 with 6 points and a good net run rate. Adam Zampa took 4 wickets in this match, while Travis Head scored 34 runs in 17 balls at a strike rate of 200. Mitchell Marsh scored 18 runs in 9 balls. David Warner was out after scoring 20 runs in 8 balls.

Group B for the T20 World Cup 2024 included Australia, England, Scotland, Namibia and Oman. Two of these teams have been eliminated from the tournament, namely Oman and Namibia. Australia has made it to Super 8. In such a situation, now England or Scotland will reach Super 8. England have to win both their remaining matches. Apart from this the net run rate also has to be taken into account, as Scotland have already achieved 5 points. If the net run rate improves, Scotland will reach the Super 8. Even if Scotland beat Australia, Scotland will play in Super 8.
