Women get Rs. 1500, free electricity to farmers… Understand Maharashtra budget in 10 points

Maharashtra Budget 2024: The Mahayuti government has presented its latest budget. A lot of big announcements have been made in this budget keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections. Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented a budget of 6 lakh 12 thousand 293 crore rupees for Maharashtra. The budget is presented to strengthen the development of all elements like farmers, laborers, students, youth, women, backward classes, tribals, minorities etc. in various sectors like law, agriculture, industry, education, trade, health, tourism etc.

  1. ‘Mukhyamantri Varkari Sampradaya Mahamandal’ is announced for Varkari people to celebrate the grand spiritual and cultural tradition of Maharashtra. Announcement of sending proposal to UNESCO for global nomination of Pandharpur Wari. For Wari main palanquin per march (dindi) Rs. A financial allocation of 20,000 was announced. A fund of Rs 36 crore was given for ‘Nirmal Wari’.
  2. A ‘Sant Shree Rooplal Maharaj Economic Development Corporation’ will be established for the Bari community. An annual coronation ceremony will be organized in Raigad to commemorate Shivaji’s coronation.
  3. ‘Mukhyamantri Mari Ladki Bahu Yojana’ provides Rs 1500 per month to eligible women aged 21 to 60 years. ‘Pink e-Rickshaw’ scheme has been launched to provide financial support to women for rickshaw business. ‘Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Startup Scheme’ was launched for small women entrepreneurs. A loan and interest repayment scheme of up to Rs 15 lakh has been launched for small women entrepreneurs.
  4. From this year, OBC and economically backward girls will be fully reimbursed academic and examination fees for all vocational courses in engineering, material science, pharmacy, medicine and agriculture.
  5. ‘Chief Minister Youth Program Prashikesh Yojana’ was announced. Under this, 1 lakh youth of Maharashtra will get up to Rs 10,000 per month for job training and education stipend. Scholarships for study abroad are announced for minority students.
  6. Free electricity will be provided to 44 lakh farmers of the state under ‘Mukhyamantri Baliraja Concession Scheme’. While milk producing farmers will get a subsidy of Rs 5 per litre. Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana’, 52 lakh families will get three free gas cylinders every year.
  7. Construction of Gems and Jewelery Park in Mhape, Navi Mumbai has been announced in the budget.
  8. An International Submarine Center and a Scuba Diving Center will be built in Sindhudurg at a cost of 66 crores.
  9. A provision has been made to make VAT uniform on petrol and diesel across the state.
  10. Relief measures have been taken in trade tax and stamp duty.
