After 45 league matches of ICC World Cup 2023, Team India senior cricketer Dinesh Karthik, former cricketer Parthiv Patel and former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doole have jointly selected the team of the tournament. All the players in this list of 11 players are from teams that have reached four semi-finals, but the most players are from India. Five Indian players are part of this special XI. It is quite natural that five players from Team India are selected in this special squad, as India is the only team in the tournament that has not lost a single match. India were the first to reach the semi-finals, winning nine league matches and topping the points table. After this, South Africa got a ticket to the semi-finals. After this, Australia and then New Zealand secured their place in the semi-finals. Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and India’s bowling attack have been highly praised and you will also see some big names in the Team of the Tournament.
Along with Dinesh Karthik, Parthiv Patel and Simon Dull picked the team of the tournament on Cricbuzz. The duo have chosen Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma to open the innings, with Virat Kohli at number three and Rachin Ravindra at number four. Henrik Klaasen is at number five, Glenn Maxwell at number six and Ravindra Jadeja at number seven. This is followed by the names of Marco Jensen, Adam Zampa, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. The first semi-final match of the ICC World Cup 2023 will be played between India and New Zealand on November 15, while the second semi-final match will be played between Australia and South Africa on November 16.
