Uttarakhand government has given a big blow to yoga guru Ramdev. In fact, the state regulator has suspended the licenses of 14 products of Ramdev’s pharma companies. The action has been taken for repeatedly publishing misleading advertisements about these products. According to a Reuters report, the order was issued by Uttarakhand’s drugs regulator on April 15 but has not been made public yet. At the same time, Ramdev’s spokesperson said that he had no immediate comment on the matter.

Let us tell you that last month Ramdev and his pharmaceutical company Patanjali Ayurveda were reprimanded by the Supreme Court for misleading advertisements. Now this case is going to be heard in the Supreme Court on April 30. In fact, the Supreme Court is hearing a 2022 petition by the IMA, accusing it of running a campaign to defame the anti-Covid vaccination campaign and modern methods of medicine. The court had last month asked Ramdev, his associate Acharya Balakrishna and Patanjali Ayurved Ltd to publicly apologize for not complying with its orders on misleading advertisements.

Show cause notice to Patanjali Foods

Meanwhile, Ramdev’s FMCG company-Patanjali Foods Limited has been sent a show cause notice by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI). Chandigarh-based DGGI Rs. 27.5 crores of GST has been demanded. DGGI Chandigarh in its investigation found fake invoices issued by seven fake companies. It is alleged that fake ITC claims of around ₹27.46 crore were made by Patanjali Foods based on this. A company spokesperson confirmed the notice.
