Lok Sabha Election 2024 has started from April 19. Today is the 5th phase of voting. In such a situation every citizen of the country should vote according to his constitutional right. If you are 18 years or above and preparing to vote then this news is for you. In order to vote, voters must have a voter ID card, as the voter ID card has to be shown before going to the polling station and voting. Voters’ identity is verified through voter ID cards so that no one person can vote on behalf of another.

Permission to vote by showing multiple documents other than Voter ID
Answer is… Yes, if you are a registered voter you can cast your vote even without a Voter ID Card (Voter ID Card Online). According to the Election Commission, apart from the Voter ID, there are several other documents that are allowed to vote (How to Vote). For this, the Election Commission has told about those 12 documents, if even one of these documents is present then the vote can be given. - aadhar card
- PAN card
- Unique Disability ID ie UDID ID
- Service ID Card
- Passbook issued by post office and bank
- Health Insurance Smart Card issued by Ministry of Labour
- Permission to drive
- Passport
- Smart Card issued by RGI under National Population Register (NPR).
- Pension Card
- Official identity card issued to MP-MLAs and MLCs
- MGNREGA Job Card
It is mandatory to be in the voter list to vote.
However, just having an ID card will not allow you to vote. The most important condition for this is that your name should be in the electoral roll (find your name in the electoral roll).
