New Delhi. In March 2022, Rimi Sen filed a police case against his friend Raunak Vyas, accusing him of defrauding him of Rs 4.14 crore. According to papers filed at the time, Jatin Vyas promised Rimi huge profits on investing in his new venture related to LED lighting.
When Jatin stopped answering her calls and refused to return the money, the actress realized she had been duped.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rimi spoke about the matter and why it took her two years to move on. He said – My file was lost. The incident happened when the Khar police station was being shifted. The signature of three to four senior officials is required in the FIR. So, if your file is lost, you have to start the process again and get the signature from the beginning. It took two years.
The friend turned out to be a fraud
Rimi continued, ‘He is a fraud. He will settle in the city and rent a flat in a posh residential society from a builder like Lodha. He will buy luxurious cars and become a member of elite clubs and gyms. He would befriend people and then trick them and run away. Many cases have been registered against him in Gujarat too.
What did you say last time?
Responding to whether he had communicated with his family, Rimi concluded, “Police officials contacted the family members. ‘How are you going to pay that much?’ But my original amount is Rs 4.14 crore. If I include interest the total is Rs. 13-14 crores. However, Jatin’s family said he was owed only Rs 2 crore. This is all fraud. He also said that the last time he spoke to him, he said that you have stolen and run away. If I reach you, I will take money from you.
