Shah Rukh Khan’s jawan could not show strength in the south

Jawan collected ₹369.22 crore at the nationwide box office in its first week. This includes collections of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions. This action thriller also performed well on the eighth day of release. According to the latest trends, the film directed by Atla collected Rs 16 crore on 14 September. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the latest numbers on Friday morning. In this he presented separate reports in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. According to this, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jaawan is not getting as much love in the south as Hindi audiences have given to films like Baahubali, RRR, KGF, Pushpa.

According to Taran Adarsh, the Hindi show collected Rs 20.10 crore on 14 September. If we talk about Tamil and Telugu, 1.80 crore rupees were earned in these languages. The southern spice did not work in the south!
Jaawan director Atla Kumar is a big name in South. Apart from this Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi… their magic impressed the Hindi audience but maybe they didn’t get that much attention in their home ground… or maybe it’s because of whatever collections they did. Can South viewers not connect with Shah Rukh Khan? While the trend of Pan India films has started since quite some time and South films have received good response in the Hindi belt as well. Be it Baahubali 1 and 2…KGF, RRR, Pushpa…all the films have been well loved…that’s why Prabhas’ status became a national star…whereas before Baahubali, not many people knew. Something similar happened with Prabhas… Yash, Jr. NTR, Allu Arjuv, Ram Charan.
When Ram Charan came with Priyanka Chopra in the remake of Zanjeer, he didn’t impress the audience that much… He didn’t make his mark as a Hindi actor… But when he came into his own style, people loved him. Come on…maybe something similar happened with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawaan.
How far will ‘Jawan’ go?
Going by the latest reports, it seems that Jawan will easily cross the Rs 400 crore milestone on September 15. Apart from this, a good surge can be seen in the weekend. Now two new films will hit the box office on September 22…they are Shilpa Shetty’s Sukhi and Vicky Kaushal’s drama film ‘The Great Indian Family’.
