New Delhi. The women’s cricket qualifiers of the Asian Games have started in Guangzhou, China from Tuesday. The first match was played between Indonesia and Mongolia. Indonesia won this match by a huge margin of 172 runs. In this match, Indonesia batted first and scored 187 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Mongolian women’s team could not even play 20 overs and were all out for 15 runs in just 10 overs. In this way, Indonesia won the opening match by 172 runs.
Chasing a target of 188 runs in this match, the Mongolian team got off to a poor start. By the time the score reached 9 runs, 7 Mongolian batsmen had returned to the pavilion. Five of them had not even opened an account. Mongolia got their first blow in the fourth over but the team was all out in just 10 overs. A total of 7 batsmen of Mongolia could not open the account. Ichinkhurlo scored the most 5 runs from the team. Five runs were awarded as extras.
For Indonesia, Andriani took 4 wickets for 8 runs in 3 overs. Apart from him, Ni Luh had 2 kills and Rahmavati had the same number of kills. Earlier, Ni Luh Devi from Indonesia also made a splash with the bat and played a stormy innings. He scored 62 runs off 48 balls. Ni Luh hit 10 fours in this innings. Apart from this, Indonesia’s second opener Ni Puttu Nanda also scored 35 runs in 31 balls. The Indonesian batsmen hit a total of 19 fours.
The Indian women’s team will play the quarter-finals directly at the Asian Games on September 21. The Pakistan team will also enter the quarter finals.
