12th Fail Box Office Collection: Veteran Bollywood director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film ’12th Fail’ has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. Released in cinemas on 27 October, the film is still on screens and given its popularity, it was later released in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada as well. Made at a cost of just Rs 20 crore, the film has got a rating of 9.2 out of 10 on IMDb. The film has earned approximately 62 crore 41 lakh rupees at the box office so far. Although the film did not receive a huge response on its release date, it slowly began to benefit from word of mouth publicity.
Opening day and first week of business
The opening day collection of ’12th Fail’ was only Rs 1 crore 11 lakh. By the end of the first weekend, the film had earned Rs 6 crore 74 lakh and the first week collection of the film was Rs 13 crore 4 lakh.
Second, third and fourth week earnings
In the second week, the film did a business of 14 crore 21 lakh rupees and thus by the second week the total collection of the film has become 27 crore 25 lakh rupees. The film had a business of Rs 8 crore 65 lakh in the third week and earned Rs 6 crore 45 lakh in the fourth week. Even though the film’s earnings were not huge in a single day, people continued to watch the film.
