4% DA gift before Diwali, huge benefit to 16 lakh employees

Recently, the Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of Central Government employees by 4%. Now state governments are gifting their employees additional dearness allowance. In this regard, the Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday announced a 4% increase in dearness allowance of state government employees and teachers. This hike in DA will be effective from July 1, 2023. After this increase, the DA of state employees has increased from 42 to 46 percent.

About 16 lakh employees will get benefit
This hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) will benefit around 16 lakh state government employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners. At the same time, this increase in dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 2546.16 crore on the government exchequer. The Naveen Patnaik-led Orissa government has also announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (Dearness Allowance or DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of state employees and pensioners.

The dearness allowance of railway employees has also been increased
The Railway Board has also released the information of its employees recently. Dearness Allowance (DA) has been increased by 4%. This increase will benefit lakhs of railway employees. The Railway Board has increased the dearness allowance from 42 percent to 46 percent. This increase in Dearness Allowance will be effective from July 1, 2023. The employees will get the arrears from July till now along with dearness allowance in next month’s salary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi The Union Cabinet recently announced a 78-day bonus for railway employees.
