The campus placement drive at IIT BHU, which started from December 1, was very disappointing. After the first two days, companies’ enthusiasm for campus placements seemed to cool down. Only 123 IITians were selected by 45 companies in the last eight days of the placement drive. At the same time, even half of the annual package of Rs 1.68 crore received in the pre-placement did not make it to the main placement.
According to data from the placement cell of IIT BHU, a total of 277 companies offered 924 students in the placement drive. This also includes 307 offers received during pre-placement. In this regard, 617 students got offers in the 12-day drive.
As per the fourth day placement update released by IIT BHU, nine students have received offers from international companies. His annual package is Rs. 45 lakh to Rs. was between 77 lakhs. This time not a single IITian could reach the Rs 1 crore package. Minimum package per annum is Rs. 12.5 lakhs down to Rs. 7 lakh has happened.

Out of nearly 1700 students registered for placement, only 924 students have been placed so far. Last year 326 companies offered placements to a total of 1094 students. Placement Officer of IIT BHU Prof. Sushant Srivastav admits that the placements so far have been disappointing. He informed that the first phase of placement will continue till December 30.
