Lyricist Javed Akhtar has shared a funny story related to his love life. He said that after divorcing Honey Irani (first wife) and before marrying Shabana Azmi (second wife), his heart fell on a French woman. Both started loving each other very much. They used to meet each other everyday. Used to spend time together. But, when Javed proposed marriage to her, she decided to go to France. Why? Read the whole story.
That’s how we met
Javed Akhtar in an interview with Cyrus (Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant) said, “I went to Rajesh Khanna’s sets to discuss the script of Haathi Mere Sathi. There I met a French lady, Josa. A few days later when I Went there. On the sets of ‘Andaz’, I met Josan again. We became friends. He told me that he was staying with his friends behind the Taj Hotel. I went to meet him and then we started seeing him everyday. That started. Sometimes he used to come. Sometimes I used to go.”
The only chance lost – Javed
Javed further said, “A taxi fare from Taj to Bandra was Rs 14 at that time. Rs 14 was very high at that time. One day I thought that all the money would go away like that. Then I went to her and she told her that either Go back or marry me. She said, ‘I want to go back but I have no money.’ So, I said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of it.’ I spent all the remaining money. I bought a ticket for him and he left. He also wrote a letter after leaving but, I could not reply to him. The letter was lost and there was no way to contact him. Only the opportunity is gone. .”
Meet again after 38 years
Javed said that he met Josan once again after 38 years. Javed said, “I was invited to launch the Kaala Ghoda festival. I arrived at the event with my wife Shabana. As we were walking towards the stage, a woman shouted ‘Javed’ from behind. I turned around. And I asked. – ‘Josanne’ ?’, he said ‘yes’. He told me he had three daughters and lived in Paris. The next time I went to Paris I brought presents for everyone. He said, ‘Wait a minute’. . She went in and came back. And gave me the same boarding card that I had given her 38 years ago.’
