Australia have suffered two major setbacks ahead of the three-match ODI series against India. Two big players of the team are not available for the first one-day international match. All-rounder Glenn Maxwell and fast bowler Mitchell Starc are not available for selection. Captain Pat Cummins gave this information through a press conference a day before the match. A few more updates have surfaced from the Australian team as well.
In fact many players of the Australian team did not travel to South Africa due to injuries. In which the names of captain Pat Cummins, batsman Steve Smith, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and fast bowler Mitchell Starc were included. However, two of these players are available for selection and two players will miss at least the first ODI, which will be played tomorrow i.e. Friday, September 22 in Mohali.

Fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are yet to fully recover from their injuries and are therefore out of the first ODI. However, the good news is that captain Pat Cummins, who was ruled out of the South Africa series with an injury, is going to play in all three ODIs. Apart from this, batsman Steve Smith is fully fit and will also prepare for the World Cup 2023 through this three-match ODI series.
