A new disease 20 times bigger than the Covid pandemic has arrived, WHO warns

Geneva. The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced an alert for a major disease worldwide, saying that 50 million people may die due to the new disease. This new disease is 20 times bigger than the covid epidemic. WHO Chief Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that the disease is extremely deadly and scientists are working on a vaccine to prevent it.

The WHO said that around 2.5 million people have died due to the corona epidemic, but this new disease is more deadly and it is feared that around 5 crore people will die due to it. Global health experts have said of the new disease that it is feared that Disease X could cause havoc similar to the Spanish flu. In 1918-1920, the Spanish flu killed more than 50 million people worldwide.

More deaths in epidemics than in world wars
Kate Bingham, chair of the UK Vaccine Taskforce, said such epidemics cost millions of lives. Double the number of premature deaths caused by the Spanish flu in World War I. He said that more viruses are present today than ever before and their variants are transmitted very quickly. Although not all types are fatal, they can cause epidemics. About 25 virus families have been identified and scientists will soon be able to create a vaccine.

Infectious diseases that will cause epidemics
WHO has said that people need to be protected from new diseases. All these are infectious diseases and will cause epidemics. These include Ebola virus, Marburg, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, Covid-19, Zika, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, etc. along with the new Disease X. Among these, disease X is considered the most dangerous.

It’s not a disease, it’s a word
Health experts have said that this disease was prevalent even before Corona; Which was named Corona. This term is used because the disease will be given that name as soon as it is known. It’s kind of a placeholder; It is used for unknown diseases in medical science. Currently, scientists do not have clear information about the form and type of this disease. It has been named Disease X so that the next time a new disease is discovered it will be renamed.
