12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey expresses pain on nepotism: Nepotism is often talked about in Bollywood. Many actors have alleged that in Bollywood, priority is given to those who belong to the industry and if you are the child of an actor, director or producer, you get work even without talent. 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey recently spoke big on nepotism and openly expressed his opinion on the issue, which is quite different. Vikrant Massey in an interview to ANI said that Bollywood is a merit based institution.

Vikrant said that people talk about nepotism but I tell people that even a shopkeeper in Chandni Chowk should not look for someone to sit in his shop. He will tell this only to his son. So, it is in every field. I am not a trained actor. If you are someone’s son or daughter and you get enough opportunities, but you are not good at work, you will immediately be shown the way out of this industry.
‘There’s someone to take everyone’s place’
The actor said that it is also true that this is a challenging industry. He said, I have seen many people coming from North India, who had their own huts, left them and came here. I have seen him sleeping with 6 people each. So, there is a misconception that things are easy here. This is a very democratic community. This is a very strong and progressive community but it is not a family. This is a very competitive industry. There are thousands of actors who want to take my place. Do they want the best for me? Or am I irreplaceable? No, if I break my leg, someone else will come and take my place and start shooting in the next 4 days and that’s how competitive it is.
‘Race Doesn’t Matter’
However, Vikrant emphasized that work matters, not caste. He said, I have seen technicians who came from Chhattisgarh and initially worked as a light man but now they have a big name as technicians. He got this based on his work and creativity. It is a beautiful industry where caste and religion do not matter.
Vikrant’s film was nominated for an Oscar
Let us tell you that Vikrant’s latest release ’12th Fail’ has been sent for Oscar 2024 as an independent nomination. The film received praise from actors including Kamal Haasan, Rishabh Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Farhan Akhtar and Anil Kapoor among others.
