There is stiff competition among leading renewable energy companies including Adani Total Energy, Reliance, GMR Energy and Siemens for green mobility projects in Uttar Pradesh. The state government wants to develop e-charging infrastructure on four of its expressways (Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Agra-Lucknow and Gorakhpur Link Express). This has been said in a report of Business Standard.
About a dozen companies participated in the bidding.
The nodal agency UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) had invited bids from private companies to build a network of 26 e-charging stations in these projects. According to a government official, around a dozen companies including Reliance, Adani-Total Energy, GMR Energy, BElectric, Lightzip Technologies, EV Plexus and Siemens participated in the bidding. The proposed e-charging stations will also have public facilities and vending zones. The government will give the land to the bidder on a 10-year lease.

After 5 years the state government will get 5% of the revenue
The official said that the company will have to start operations within 6 months after allotment of land. The state government will get 5% revenue after 5 years. As the state government wants to achieve complete e-mobility by the year 2030, the government is taking steps to strengthen renewable energy generation. The government is encouraging people to use green energy products, especially electric vehicles. The state government wants to build a strong network of e-charging stations in other public places and residential areas. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of registered electric vehicles. The state has about 25 percent of the total electric vehicles in the country. The UP EV Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022 plans to attract investment, promote sustainable transport and boost the ecosystem for electric vehicles.
